Airbnb Host Spotlights
Hosts are the heart of Airbnb, and one of the biggest reasons guests choose to stay in a home over a hotel. We profiled Airbnb’s quirkiest, coolest, and most fascinating hosts from all over the world in a series we call Host Spotlights. The host stories live on our Press Room site and our main social channels.
New York City
To coincide with the launch of Airbnb Trips in New York City, we profiled a different Experience host in every borough — from a beekeeper on Staten Island to a pair of twin jewelry designers in Brooklyn.
Asher Landes teaches the art of beekeeping from his apiary on a Staten Island rooftop.
Angelis Nannos, an Athens native, takes guests on a tour of Greek life in Queens – including a lesson on Grecian architecture and a traditional Greek meal.
Dynasty and Soull Ogun-Ant, identical twin designers, give a jewelry-making masterclass from their Brooklyn neighborhood.

Los Angeles
In LA, we spent a day with Matteen Khalifian, executive chef of LA Gastronomy and Airbnb Experience host. He teaches guests how to apply fine dining techniques to create the eclectic dishes on his restaurant’s menu, like cola-braised Korean short rib or a coconut fried chicken, which they then serve to diners the same evening.
